Week #36 and Finishing Strong

Last Monday, learners in our elementary studio were asked, "What would be the best battle cry to help you this week--your last week of this year and the week you are putting on the play that you have been working on this session?" After several ideas and suggestions, "Acton Eagles don't give up early--they finish strong!" won the vote. They learned to yell it out together, throwing their hands in the air. It was a pleasure to see the desire to finish strong burning inside many.

"Acton Eagles don't give up early--they finish strong!"

Learners on the cusp of finishing up a badge (the way they prove mastery over their learning) pulled out all the stops to do so before the end of the week. At the same time, they all juggled the demands of executing a play using minimum production for maximum impact, to the delight of families.

After the play, a panel of learners took questions about their experience.

The day after the play, learners took ample time to reflect, centered around our Question of the Year: When does a hero submit to authority?
When did you choose to submit to authority this year?
When did you choose not to submit to authority this year?
When did you choose to submit to authority while making the play?
When did you choose not to submit to authority while making the play?

End of year celebration of excellent work (badges in hand!)

Are you ready for your child to have a school experience like this--one that puts them on fire for taking responsibility for themselves?
